Church Repair Fund Appeal

Dear Parishioners,

As you may be aware we are planning to close the Church this summer for the months of June, July and August in order to undertake some necessary internal repairs. During this period, services will be held in the Parish Restoration inside wallHall. The Select Vestry has planned this work following the advice of the Diocesan Architect; the schedule of work is listed overleaf.

In order cover the costs of these repairs and improvements the Select Vestry has taken the decision to launch a Church Repair Fund and to ask parishioners to support it through a contribution in a special Appeal envelope. It is very difficult at this point to estimate the precise cost of these repairs however as you can see from the schedule of work it is likely to be a significant sum. The Select Vestry will have a better idea of costs in a few weeks when tenders from various contractors have been received. Parishioners will be informed of the actual cost as soon as it is available.

In the meantime we ask you to consider contributing to the Repair Fund and to give as you are able. We do recognise that these are financially difficult times however we also know how much Rossorry parishioners love their church and feel confident that you will respond generously to this Appeal. An envelope is enclosed with this letter for your convenience.

It is hoped that this Appeal will launch the Church Repair Fund and in addition we will be Restoration insideplanning a series of fund raising activities beginning in September. We trust that you might continue to support us as we work together to enhance and beautify God’s church for His worship in years to come.

We are planning a special Gift Sunday service on Sunday 31st May at 11am and ask you to return your Church Repair Fund envelope that day or at another time at your convenience. This will be our final Sunday in the church prior to the work commencing and we will seek the blessing of God as we move forward in faith to complete these significant repairs and improvements in time for our 2016 celebration of the 175th anniversary of the present church.

With sincere thanks in anticipation of your support.

Your friend and Rector.
